Exam-answer use: Reach, Frequency and Message Weight were asked together in May 2026 Q4(a) [10 marks], with calculation examples. The links below distinguish faculty-note examples from extra drills.

## Formula

$$
\bar f=\frac{I}{n},\qquad I=\sum_j n_j f_j
$$

I = gross impressions, including repeat exposures; n = distinct people reached. If groups have different repetitions, first multiply each group size nⱼ by its repetitions fⱼ and add those products.

#### Illustrative example · Read the calculation in words

1,500 people see an ad 3 times and 1,500 see it 6 times. Impressions = 4,500 + 9,000 = 13,500. Reached people = 3,000. Average = 13,500 ÷ 3,000 = 4.5 exposures.
