Exact historical variant. Current-syllabus questions solved; excluded topics and source limitations stated.

### Q7(a). Two switches connect via left interface8/right7. Left hosts G,H,I,J,K,L use 10,11,12,13,14,15; right hosts A,B,C,D,E,F use 1,2,3,4,5,6. Initially tables are empty. For E→A, F→E, L→C, C→F at times1–4 (with replies), show entries added at both switches. The question calls these ARP tables though the columns are MAC/interface/TTL. [10 marks]

### Answer

**Source note:** This is MAC learning, not an ARP cache. The diagram’s example (A,2) conflicts with the drawn A interface1. No unqualified ARP solution is presented.

This historical topic is not named in the current six-unit syllabus. It is recorded for a complete paper inventory, but excluded from the required preparation and current-unit mark totals.
