Two complete MT2 mock papers
These mocks follow the teacher's Unit 3–4 guidance and clarification relayed on 12 October. The 2-mark parts can be theory or a theory–numerical combination. For Q2–Q4, practise both stated arrangements: two numerical questions plus one theory question; or one mixed theory–numerical question, one numerical question and one theory question. Prepare the theory of both units as well as the numerical methods.
Each rehearsal uses the established 10-mark layout: Q1(a) and Q1(b), 2 marks each, are compulsory; answer any TWO of Q2–Q4, 3 marks each. Allow 60 minutes. Mock A uses numerical + numerical + theory in Q2–Q4, including two Unit 4 numericals. Mock B uses mixed + numerical + theory, including Unit 3 optimization. The topic assigned to each question, and the marks split inside Mock B's mixed question, are practice choices rather than a fixed official blueprint. Unit 5 RNN and standalone Unit 2 ANN questions are not included here.
Every answer is immediately below its question. The worked answers deliberately show more explanation than you need to copy during the exam. In the exam, retain the method, substitutions, intermediate values and labelled final answer.
