All seven units: final revision

TEE · full-course revision

TEE · revision, not a replacement for full lessons

TEE is 100 marks in 3 hours, scaled to 50 in the course total. Q1 is compulsory; choose any four of Q2–Q7. Each full question carries 20 marks. The two supplied 2025–26 papers follow this rule. Do not use the short M2 route as complete TEE preparation.

UnitMust be able to explainMust be able to work
1NLP levels, building blocks, NLU/NLG, approaches, pipeline and challengesClassify ambiguity and identify linguistic units in examples.
2Tokenization, case, stopwords, stemming/lemmatization, encoding, BoW/TF-IDFConstruct vectors; compute TF-IDF, cosine/Jaccard/Euclidean/Manhattan/Minkowski.
3Corpora, annotation, dictionaries, regex, N-gram models and smoothingList n-grams; count probabilities; smooth; compute sentence probability/perplexity.
4POS approaches, HMM, chunking/chinking, CFG parsing, NERBuild emission/transition matrices; score paths; draw a tree; trace parser operations.
5Lexical relations, WordNet, WSD, distributional/vector semantics, Word2Vec, GloVeLesk and NB; co-occurrence vectors; similarity; CBOW/Skip-gram examples.
6Pragmatics/discourse, reference, coreference, pronouns, Hobbs and other approachesIdentify chains; show a tree traversal and state parse assumptions.
7Classification, sentiment, spelling, translation, QA, IE, IRDesign an application pipeline; calculate relevant model/evaluation examples.

TEE revision sequence

First revise the formula sheet and one full example per numerical family. Next read each unit’s definitions and comparisons. Then work one complete previous paper using its original choice rule. Finally revisit only the steps you got wrong, and read the other paper’s new question forms. Keep examples and diagrams beside definitions when revising; a term you cannot illustrate is not yet ready to explain.

For a 10-mark numerical, show the count table or matrix and the intermediate probabilities. For a 10-mark theory answer, organise definition, mechanism/steps, diagram/example, advantages and limitations around the actual question. Do not add unrelated paragraphs just to fill space.
